Small experiments, clear learning

Define a modest experiment and a useful way to record what changes.

Before this session

Bring a simple fictional scenario, not confidential research or customer information.

The exercise starts by reducing the size of an experiment until someone can describe what will be tried and why. The group chooses a single uncertainty and names the observation it would find useful. This is different from setting a success target that makes the activity appear productive regardless of what happens.

A second pass looks at the record of the test: what was observed, which interpretation is plausible and what remains unknown.
